Dear Delegates,
It is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to the Historical World War 2 Committee for
British International School’s Model United Nations conference (BISMUN) 2022! My name is
Matilde Madera and I’ll be the head chair for this committee. I’m immeasurably exited to
witness all of the brilliant delegates present in this committee strive to reach their full potentials
as witty, resourceful and admirable individuals in this amazing opportunity BISMUN is able to
provide you. I’m looking forward to creating an engaging, active environment as we face and
overcome the challenges and crisis that not only Europe but the entire international community
faces on the brink of war.
Aiming for war or aiming for peace… As former delegates of the WW2 Historical
Committee, it is upon your hands to determine the fate of the political and social circumstances
that will come to light based upon your brilliant initiatives. Be prepared to encounter a great deal
of problematics, some designed by the crisis staff and some of your own making that will
reshape the development of this committee and clearly fuel your sharp-witted minds to take
action and keep an exemplary dynamic debate through our conference days.
Throughout this guide you’ll be able to find helpful information to start your
investigations regarding the topics that will be covered. However, I do invite all of you to look
beyond what is provided, to venture yourselves and seek deeper into whatever aspect you were
interested in the most, in order to prepare properly for the events that might take place during the
committee.
I’m greatly looking forward to witnessing all of your brilliant ideas, arguments and
resolutions! And most importantly, I invite all of you to enjoy this experience to the maximum
since after all, as your Chair, my primary objective is to make sure you all have fun.
